Yoga Studies Summer School

The Jagiellonian University Institute for the Study of Religions

21st July - 5th August 2017

The event is intended as a learning platform for university students, scholars, and non-academics who wish to broaden their knowledge of yoga. World class specialists will deliver lectures on a wide range of topics related to the academic study of yoga, and provide insight into cutting-edge research. Some of the courses will include a workshop part, involving Sanskrit recitation and practice of basic modern yoga techniques.

Prerequisites:

Communicative use of English in speaking, reading and writing (Anglophone reading material will be assigned before and during classes);

General knowledge of the history and phaenomenology of Hinduism (a short introduction to the history of yoga will be provided at the beginning of the programme);

Command of Sanskrit is not mandatory, but will be very helpful

 

Fee: 450 EUR

Payable upon acceptance of the participant. Fee does not cover meals and accommodation.

Please note that there are many other accommodation options in the vicinity of the YSSS venue. Make sure you are comfortable with the location (which is over 3 km away from the venue) before submitting the reservation form.
